  6. Version 2.5.1 of the 3-Button Powerｪ control panel is now compatible with
  7. all of the new Macintosh models. This includes, but is not limited to, the
  8. following machines:
  9.  
  10. Color Classic                                                                    PowerBook 160
  11. LC 520                                                                                        PowerBook 165c
  12. LC III                                                                                            PowerBook 180
  13. Mac IIvx                                                                                    PowerBook 180c
  14. Mac IIvi                                                                                    DuoDock models
  15. Centris 610                                                                      Performa models
  16. Centris 650                                                                        Mac II models
  17. Centris 660av                                                             SE models
  18. Quadra 800                                                                         Quadra models
  19. Quadra 840av                                                                 PowerBook models
  20.  
  21. (and others to be listed as they become available)

  23. It will also work with Apple's new PowerPC-based Macs,
  24. which are currently unnamed.

  26. Version 2.5.1 of 3-Button Powerｪ has the following fixes and
  27. improvements:
  28.  
  29. - works with other Control Panels and Extensions (AfterDark, Norton
  30.         FileSaver, MacEKG, etc.)
  31. - puts up a message when the file is locked and can't save changes
  32. - now remembers user settings on PowerBooks when they go into sleep mode
  33. - settings are maintained when the 3-Button Power file is copied to other
  34.    Macs (or Systems)
  35. - Note: version 2.5 had a problem with the newer PowerBooks that caused a
  36.    crash after waking up from sleep mode. Version 2.5.1 corrects this.
  37.    This includes PowerBooks 180c, 180, 165c, DuoDocks 210 & 230, etc.

  39. INSTALLATION NOTES (for users who don't read manuals):
  40. For System 7:
  41.              - Drag the "3-Button Power" file onto the System Folder icon on the
  42.                     start-up disk.  Note: dragging directly into the System Folder WINDOW
  43.                     will not put the file in the Control Panels sub-folder.
  44.              - Say OK to the dialog that requests installation in the Control Panels
  45.                     Folder.
  46.              - If you have a previous version of 3-Button Power, say OK to the
  47.                     replacement dialog.
  48.              - Restart your computer.

  50. For System 6:
  51.              - Drag the "3-Button Power" file into the System Folder of the start-up
  52.           disk.
  53.              - If you have a previous version of 3-Button Power, say OK to the
  54.           replacement dialog.
  55.              - Restart your computer.

  58. SPECIAL NOTE FOR GRAVIS USERS:
  59. There exists a conflict with the Advanced Gravis MouseStick II Control Panel.
  60. Mouse Systems is working with Advanced Gravis to solve this problem.

  62. SPECIAL NOTE FOR INIT PICKER USERS WITH SYSTEM 7:
  63. INITPicker is not completely compatible with System 7. For this reason, you
  64. may need to install the 3-Button Power file in the Extensions Folderﾑnot the
  65. Control Panels Folderﾑin the System Folder. This is because 3-Button Power
  66. looks to INITPicker like an INIT and must reside with all the other INITs
  67. ("Extensions" in System 7 parlance). Tested with INITPicker 2.0.
